For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. -Ephesians 3:14-19
Our hope in starting the site deeproots317 is founded in the prayer that Paul prays for his friends from Ephesus in Ephesians 3:14-19. We find ourselves consistently praying these words alongside of Paul for the friends that we have. Our hope for them and anyone else that visits this site is that the power of God's words would take a stronger root in that person's life.
We know that life change is not a function of great illustrations, emotional stories or cool acronyms. We fully believe that within His "very great and precious promises" (2Peter 1:4) lies everything we need to find the utmost joy and satisfaction in life. Our purpose of bringing great glory to God is fulfilled in our overflowing satisfaction of him in our lives. And that satisfaction is found in the streams of God's truth. By sending out our roots to this "spring of living water" (Jer.2:13) we can be confident that His truths will not only satisfy us, but over-satisfy so that we will spill into the lives of everyone around us.
"...but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither." Psalm 1:2,3
"Blessed is the man...whose trust is in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when the heat comes..." Jer. 17:7,8
Please feel great freedom to copy, use or distribute anything that encourages you and/or others to walk closer to Christ, to hold more tightly to Him. Our hope is that any person might be encouraged and challenged to walk by faith by anything they might find here at this resource site.
Know His truths, walk with Christ and know with us the overflowing joy that David showed us in Psalm 63:
"Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed and meditate on you in the watches of the night." - Psalm 63:3-6
